Starting in 1997, we found ourselves needing higher quality, functional furniture that's locally made for the South African market. Lamenting at the thought of the decades past, where improvements can be made, and how to provide the highest quality non-imported functional & beautiful furniture we'd started to play with melamine's, pressing our own boards, all sorts of machinery, designs and the whole factory, and eventually got to what we deemed as 'hitting the nail on the head'.

It started out flimsy & all over the show over 20 years ago, but tons of learning, trials & tribulations took place & thus City Cupboards® was birthed.

Having had many others ask for our products in the beginning, we now employ a team of 30, from manufacturing, delivery, marketing to our lovely front of house customer support. Having kept up with  the ever changing trends & market & our general love for providing the highest quality at the best prices, we're able to offer our family proudly made South African products of the highest quality at the most affordable prices.
